Auto parts; Why are used parts better than new cheap parts?

Posted by on Feb 22, 2019 in Aftermarket Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts | 0 comments

Any running machine is subject to tear and wear. A car’s windshield wipers, brake pads and shoes, and airbags need to be replaced after sometime. You will experience noises from your vehicle when a particular part has been worn out or even broken. It is advisable to research the auto part before you repair or replace it.

Rather than buying a new auto part, it is always advisable to replace a worn out or broken part with a used part even if it is a bit more expensive than the new part. This is so because of:

Convenience

An already used car part is easy to find as you know where to find it. New parts require a lot of research to find the best part to use. Old parts offer the simplicity of choosing an auto part.

Genuine

An added advantage of using a used auto part is that you might get a genuine part. Genuine parts have your cars logo and are the most ideal as they are identical

Quality

A new product is not always guaranteed to be of good quality. Actually what makes most of the new parts to be cheap is that their quality is poor. You might replace an auto part with s new one and find out later that the auto part is not durable. A quality auto part will serve you for a longer period.

Fit

Used parts fit perfectly and do not have a crumple zone, that is, they have a controlled manner in which they crumble when a car crashes meaning they are safer after an accident.

Used parts are also environmental friendly.

Posted by on Feb 4, 2019 in Cheap Used Auto Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts NYC | 0 comments

Once in a while, we have to replace worn out auto parts in our machinery as a maintenance practice. Some of these auto parts are very expensive, and we, therefore, find ourselves buying second hand or used parts which tend to be cheaper and can be as good as new. But we can also get to buy the abused auto parts which are in this case less expensive than the used parts wasting our money. Sellers will go to the extent of taking advantage of their customers by selling abused parts which are more less the same as the worn out parts.

As we have seen used auto parts can be a lifesaver especially for a classic car whose parts are no longer being manufactured. When buying a used part, a lot of caution is required to avoid the purchase of an abused auto part. Such precautions include carrying the old part for comparison purposes. Most of the used parts cannot be returned meaning if it is an abused part, you will end up wasting your money.

It is essential to avoid looking like a novice at the shop. Ask relevant questions regarding the performance of the part in question. At times even if you are very careful, you will buy a wrong or abused part. Ensure that the shop you are purchasing at can exchange it later or offer a refund.

It is also important to meet other people who use such a machine or car at a swap meet. They might advise you on the ins and outs of the mentioned auto part. They might recommend the best shop or shop to buy used parts avoiding the abused parts.

Do You Need Replacement Auto Parts for Winter Driving in NYC?

Posted by on Nov 30, 2013 in Cheap Used Auto Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts NYC, Used Auto Parts, Used Auto Parts NYC | Comments Off

NYC and the surrounding areas are known for harsh winter weather, which makes driving particularly challenging. If you’ve been putting off replacing old or broken auto parts, now is the time in order to combat the hazardous winter driving conditions.

The most important car parts during the winter include:

  • Your brake system. This is one of the most important components of safe winter driving. If you need any replacement auto parts for your brake system, it’s important to have this taken care of before you attempt to drive on snow or ice.
  • Get a tune-up prior to venturing out for winter driving, and have the mechanic check all belts and hoses. Cold weather can weaken them, meaning you may need replacements.
  • Wiper blades should be in perfect condition, to avoid reduced visibility during the winter.
  • Does your defrost and heating system work properly? This system is more important than just providing comfort—a defrost system ensures your windshield is clear and free of fog. Reduced visibility accounts for a large percentage of winter driving accidents.

If your vehicle needs any replacement auto parts, contact New York City Auto Salvage and Glass at 718-297-9797. We have a vast range of parts for the systems named above, or any other auto replacement part you may need.

Posted by on Nov 15, 2013 in Cheap Used Auto Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts NYC, Used Auto Parts, Used Auto Parts NYC | Comments Off

Most NYC residents travel to the outer boroughs or New Jersey for car repairs, due to the popularity of auto repair shops, but you may be surprised to learn New Jersey has the highest auto repair costs in the country.

USA Today recently covered the results of a survey, and that’s right—the Garden State is the number one state in the country for the cost of car repairs. It’s not just New Jersey—the same survey showed that the entire Northeast region saw the biggest jump in the cost of auto repairs of all types during 2012.

Due to the rising costs of car repairs, many owners reported putting off small repairs until later, which actually resulted in higher cumulative costs.

Are you experiencing sticker shock for the cost of auto repairs in the NYC area including all 5 boroughs? One great way to combat the costs is by purchasing used auto parts. When you buy used auto parts, you’re getting top quality products, but at a fraction of the cost, so you can significantly reduce the overall cost of car repairs and keep more cash in your pocket.
