Why vehicle recycling is the future?

Posted by on Mar 12, 2019 in Cheap Used Auto Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts NYC, How To Change Radiators, Junk Car, Junk Yard Jamaica NYC, Used Auto Parts | 0 comments

The US automobile industry is massive. The United States is the fourth largest producer of automobiles in the world, right below Germany and Japan and just above South Korea. Supplying 5.5% of the world automobile supply, of which there are over a billion. The influx of vehicles to the US is added by the fact that the United States imports 179.6 billion USD worth of the world’s vehicle supply, the largest importer by a wide margin. This gives the United States a massive surplus in terms of available vehicles to be sold, increasing total ownership rates. This, combined with increasing costs of car repairs, as newer, modern cars are more complicated and rely heavily on computers, increasing time and effort to fix vehicles, have lead to a rise in new cars being bought.
This phenomenon has caused a rise in car recycling, with nearly 12 million cars recycled each year, 80% of all automobiles in the United States. So it is no wonder why the automobile recycling industry is the 16th largest industry in the US, adding $25 billion to the US GDP of 19.4 trillion, and employs over 100,000 workers. And the United States isn’t even the only country to recycle it’s cars, while the United States recycles 12 million cars, Europe recycles 8 million, and Europe saves about 80% of an original car through recycling, roughly the same as the United States. And surprisingly, the majority of US recycling measures are undertaken by small business, as 75 percent of all automotive companies employ less than 10 people. To add onto the benefits of recycling, North American car recycling programs have saved over 85 million barrels of oil from being used in making new or replacement cars.
Vehicle recycling is a beneficial alternative to complete scrapping, as it provides jobs, assists the environment, and is becoming an attractive new business. As recycling becomes more mainstream, and the demand for new cars starts pushing older cars into the recycling circle, the recycling business is turning into a quickly growing industry, and an excellent investment opportunity into a growing worldwide entrepreneurial field, that has room only to expand.

Do You Need Replacement Auto Parts for Winter Driving in NYC?

Posted by on Nov 30, 2013 in Cheap Used Auto Parts, Cheap Used Auto Parts NYC, Used Auto Parts, Used Auto Parts NYC | Comments Off

NYC and the surrounding areas are known for harsh winter weather, which makes driving particularly challenging. If you’ve been putting off replacing old or broken auto parts, now is the time in order to combat the hazardous winter driving conditions.

The most important car parts during the winter include:

  • Your brake system. This is one of the most important components of safe winter driving. If you need any replacement auto parts for your brake system, it’s important to have this taken care of before you attempt to drive on snow or ice.
  • Get a tune-up prior to venturing out for winter driving, and have the mechanic check all belts and hoses. Cold weather can weaken them, meaning you may need replacements.
  • Wiper blades should be in perfect condition, to avoid reduced visibility during the winter.
  • Does your defrost and heating system work properly? This system is more important than just providing comfort—a defrost system ensures your windshield is clear and free of fog. Reduced visibility accounts for a large percentage of winter driving accidents.

If your vehicle needs any replacement auto parts, contact New York City Auto Salvage and Glass at 718-297-9797. We have a vast range of parts for the systems named above, or any other auto replacement part you may need.

Since we sell quality used parts, not only are you likely to find the part you need, but it’ll be offered at a great price. If we don’t have it at our main location, we have three other salvage yards we can search.

Most NYC residents travel to the outer boroughs or New Jersey for car repairs, due to the popularity of auto repair shops, but you may be surprised to learn New Jersey has the highest auto repair costs in the country.

USA Today recently covered the results of a survey, and that’s right—the Garden State is the number one state in the country for the cost of car repairs. It’s not just New Jersey—the same survey showed that the entire Northeast region saw the biggest jump in the cost of auto repairs of all types during 2012.

Due to the rising costs of car repairs, many owners reported putting off small repairs until later, which actually resulted in higher cumulative costs.

Are you experiencing sticker shock for the cost of auto repairs in the NYC area including all 5 boroughs? One great way to combat the costs is by purchasing used auto parts. When you buy used auto parts, you’re getting top quality products, but at a fraction of the cost, so you can significantly reduce the overall cost of car repairs and keep more cash in your pocket.
